When the weather is lovely, the last place you want to be for your summer party or event is cooped up indoors and yet the options for outside events in the City are pretty limited.

The HAC is just minutes walk from any City office but as you walk through the gates onto the stunning six acre garden you enter a different world. With so much space the possibilities are endless and limited only by your imagination.

One of the most popular pastimes at the HAC is cricket particularly as the HAC has the only cricket ground in, or even near, the City. Often these cricket matches are combined with catering of some form; either an informal barbecue or reception or a quite regularly, a seated dinner with an auction and follow on entertainment. Charity 6-a-side competitions are popular and can prove to be excellent fundraising events as well as great fun. There can be few more pleasurable ways to spend a gorgeous summer’s evening than sipping a glass of pimms whilst listening to the thwack of the ball on a cricket bat (even if you have no interest in the game whatsover!) 

On days when there is no cricket the Artillery Garden can be hired for both daytime and evening events until dusk. After work rounders or softball games followed by a barbecue are particularly in demand as are team building events and inflatable fun days. We have teamed up with Firebird who offer a fantastic range of team building events and entertainment for either outdoor or indoor events. They have tailor-made their offering to ensure that everything they suggest would work well here at the HAC.  

It is becoming more and more popular to combine a conference with team building activities to maximise the return on investment for the event. The stylish, contemporary Prince Consort Rooms work perfectly for this style of event seating up to 400 guests for a theatre style conference or 250 cabaret style. The Prince Consort Rooms have their own courtyard and astroturfed planter area which can be used for refreshments and barbecues if the weather is fine whilst still providing a wet weather option. For summer parties in the Prince Consort Rooms we provide giant games such as Connect 4, jenga, kerplunk etc.
